What will the "post Covid" normal look like in our hospitality industry? No one knows. Many manufacturers in our industry have "pivoted" to create new products and or repurposed existing items that can help operators, now and into the future while we settle in to the "new norm".

Continue to check back with us here, we plan to update this page as new items come available.

Got Sanitizer??

Everyone needs it EVERYWHERE. Operators and even office buildings will need to sanitize EVERYTHING, and that can get expensive. In a time when foodservice operators may be scrambling to pay rent, these additional necessary expenses will only add to their hardship. Glissen has offered their sanitizing tablets to the restaurant and bar industry for over 50 years. Most bartenders know the products under the name NU-FOAM®. Those same bartenders have been dropping small tablets into their sink to sanitize glasses for years. Guess what? It can do more than sanitize your glassware.

  • All purpose sanitizerGlissen Nu Foam Bottle
  • It is suggested to use 1 tablet per quart to bring the dilution to 800 ppm. (different than what is on the current label)
  • 60 Second Kills Time
  • No wiping or drying needed
  • Non Corrosive, no odor, no taste
    • No smell of Chlorine or Bleach!
  • Safe for food contact surfaces
  • Tablets have an indefinite shelf life

Consider the storage space saving benefit of storing 25 gallons in a drawer vs half of a storage closet. There is also a cost saving benefit as well. Contact your local Foodservice Equipment & Supplier for more information. If you cannot get your answers, contact us and we can help you.

Need to Wash AND Sanitize all at once??

Check out Nu-Foamicide!

Nu-Foamicide has beed around for years as well. Mostly known by operators who had 2 bay sinks that had to wash and sanitize in one step. This is another concentrate product that needs to be diluted based on use:

  • Non Food contact surfaces, look to achieve a minimum of 400ppm for use on floors, doors, handles, etc. At this ppm do not use on food contact surfaces.

  • Nu-Foamicide is safe for Food contact surfaces at 200pm.

Here is what the EPA has stated about this product:

"While disinfectant products on this list have not been tested specifically against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19, they are expected to be effective against SARS-CoV-2 because they have been tested and proven effective on either a harder-to-kill virus or against another human coronavirus similar to SARS-CoV-2.  "

Sanitizing with UV!

Another product modified for use in this new world we are living in:

Enter the Edlund Company and their KSUV knife sanitizing cabinet. This product has been around for many years as well. Typically mounted to the wall in a professional kitchen to lock and sanitize knifes with UV light. We have seen this product now used to sanitize masks for re-use by dental offices and some schools planning to install them in classrooms for sanitizing shared school utensils.
